Quick Glance: What to Know About The Carnival Venezia in New York City

Updated: Jan 7

Carnival Venezia

The Carnival Venezia, formerly known as the Costa Venezia as it was previously a Costa Cruises ship, is one of the newest ships in the Carnival Cruise Line fleet. It's been sailing out of Venice for some time, but is now making it's debut in the Big Apple. Here is everything you should know about the ship!

Jay Leno is the Godfather of the Ship

Going against tradition, Carnival chose a Godfather, who is none other than Jay Leno. They decided to keep the Italian theme going with this ship! Speaking of...

Be Prepared For An Italian Adventure!

This ship is staying true to it's Italian heritage, and you will find many Italian-inspired themes onboard. As Carnival likes to call it, "Fun Italian Style" is how it's done. From dining options including Il Viaggio and Pizzeria del Capitano, to the Piazza San Marco atrium, you will surely find the theme of Italy onboard.

Current Sailings Are Out of New York City, but Keep an Eye Out for Port Canaveral in the Future!

Even though it is currently in NYC, the ship does have the Bahamas on the list of itineraries from this port! According to Carnival Cruises, there are plans for the ship to be moved to Port Canaveral closer to 2025, so Floridians should keep an eye out!

Itineraries Include The Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada & New England, Panama Canal, and the Caribbean

The ship that does it all, you will find quite the variety of itineraries to choose from with this ship. Going along the East coast, there will be plenty of choices for every type of sailor. I would definitely recommend taking advantage of those Canada sailings while you can in New York City!

Big, but Not the Biggest

The ship has a guest capacity of 4,090 people, which is quite a large number but not the largest in the fleet. At 135,225 gross tonnage, it is still quite a decent size! It also boasts 1,424 onboard crew members. So if you aren't a fan of the super-sized ships but still want a little more leg room, this will be perfect!
